Johnny Sack was a craftsman and a German immigrant who built his cabin and water wheel from native lumber and rock.
He was not a big man, and stood less than five feet tall, so he built the cabin and his furniture to to fit his height.
Along side the cabin stands a unique, working water wheel and are located on the east side of the springs.
It's now a visitor’s center and the cabin is under a special use permit to Island Park interpretive association.
During the summer the cabin is open to the public. Come and see a piece of Island Park History.
