The Henry's Fork of the Snake River is one of the most famous trout rivers in the United States. Idaho Fish and Game calls it world famous for trout fishing, and anglers come from around the world for its clear water and its hatches.
The river begins where Big Springs meets the outlet of Henry's Lake. It flows past Mack's Inn and through Coffee Pot Rapids, then below Island Park Dam into Box Canyon, a short, fast stretch known for big rainbows. From there it slows through Last Chance and Harriman State Park, the famous "Ranch" water loved by dry fly fishers, before it drops toward Mesa Falls.
Floating, kayaking and quiet riverside walks are just as popular as fishing.
