Old Faithful is one of Yellowstone's most iconic sights, and its predictable eruptions make planning easy. The National Park Service puts the average interval at about 102 minutes, give or take 10 (as of 2025), so check the posted prediction at the visitor education center or in the NPS App when you arrive.
The geyser is only the beginning. Easy boardwalks lead through the Upper Geyser Basin, an extraordinary concentration of geysers and colorful hot springs, and you can easily spend a few hours exploring them.
